Due to our poor economy, my husband and I had to moved and rented out our home to prevent foreclosure?

April 18th, 2009 | by admin |

We couldn't to pay for our credit cards since November 2008, we barely have any money for food. Since there are laws for home owners modification, what about our credits. I just clean up my bad credit in 2005 and enjoy non-collectors harrasing me. Now, when my phone rang, it is the collectors all over again. Not paying for my credit cards is not my choice, it is a force.

Are there any laws for families that lost their jobs and couldn't keep up with their credit cards? This will hurt my credit for a long time. Also, my son's Dentist refused to changed or remove his braces because we have missed 7 months payment due to jobless.

Please help me what's out there that I am not aware of. I am at the point where I could careless if I just don't wake up the next morning. But I know I must remain strong for my two children.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, I know it is no comfort to know that many others are in the same situation and you are doing the right thing by staying strong for your children.
You should contact a non-profit credit counselor (check them out with Better Business Bureau first as not all are as good as others) and let them assist you in working with credit card companies and the dentist and any other creditors to work out a payment solution that will work. Ultimately, they may recommend that you need to file a bankruptcy, which means you will have to restart your credit one more time, but at least you won't be harassed and can start fresh.
I hope your situation improves soon- remember that as long as you an your family remain healthy, the rest will all work itself out one way or the other, but no amount of money can help if someone loses their health.

I don't think there are any laws other than bankruptcy if you are that far gone that would get these credit cards off your back. The only *bail out* type of things are for those who meet certain requirements when it comes to their homes foreclosing.

That's gotta be rough when the orthodontist won't remove or adjust your sons braces.. ugh.

    1. There are NO laws requiring home owners loan modification..so I really, really hope you aren't banking on that.

    2. Nothing for credit cards either.

    3. If you can afford internet service, you can afford to get that kid's braces fixed. I cannot believe as a parent you would allow your child to be MEDICALLY neglected.

If I had to work 3 jobs with no sleep…I would do that before my child kept braces on his teeth that a dentist cannot adjust or remove.

throw out the credit cards – braces are often a luxury – start learning to cook with beans and potatoes and rice from scratch – stay out of the malls entirely and shop at Goodwill

call your sons dentist and make some kind of payments to him. your son shouldnt suffer.
let the credit cards go. after 5 years they will be off your credit.
dont pay the cards but pay your sons dentist.
