St. Anger came out 11 years after this period of time in Megadeth. There was copying going on, but it sure wasn’t goatees. Hetfield has always been insecure, and still carries an inferiority complex at the mere thought of Dave Mustaine. He can’t let go of Mustaine, and it shows. 26 years later and Hetfield still can’t get over it. . .

Why Does Mustaine have a goatee?? Are you 12 years old? 13 Years old? He had a goatee because it was 1992 and Dave probably thought it would be a smart marketing move at the time to stay relevant in image — hence the flannel.
